The Upward Bound Summer Academy Head Resident lives in the residence hall June 6th -July 20th and is responsible for daily supervision of Tutor-Counselors and students in the residence hall, classrooms, other areas on campus, and while away on cultural outings. The Head Resident will supervise programming and activities, interact with parents, and give guidance to high school students in the Upward Bound Program.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Education, Social Science, or Business Field. At least 2 years experience with urban high school students. Excellent written/oral communication, attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks. Previous experience as a Resident Assistant, Camp Counselor, or Hall Director.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with Upward Bound. Previous supervisory experience.
Previous experience with students from underrepresented backgrounds.

Work Hours

Summer Academy with training is from June 6 -July 20, 2018. This is a residential position that is scheduled from Sunday 5pm-Friday at 5pm for six weeks.
