The Upward Bound Program Summer Academy Bridge Counselor lives in the residence hall from June 6 – August 3 and is responsible for daily supervision of assigned Bridge Students in residence halls, classrooms, at various points across campus, and while away on cultural outings; escorting them to Sinclair Community College via RTA bus for classes; providing tutoring, motivation, programming, activities, and guidance.

Minimum Qualifications

Currently enrolled student with rising Junior or Senior status and at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale; or a recent college graduate. Experience working with diverse populations of urban high school students. Good written and verbal communication skills. The ability to tutor participants in course material.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior Upward Bound Program Experience. Previous residence life experience. Familiarity with the University of Dayton and/or Sinclair Community College.

Work Hours

Summer Academy Bridge Program with training is from June 6 – August 3, 2018. This is a residential position that is scheduled from Sundays 5pm to Fridays 5pm for 8 weeks.
