University Summary

The University of Dayton Department of Health and Sport Science is seeking applicants for a clinical faculty position in the area of nutrition and dietetics. The department and UD offer a highly collaborative, interdisciplinary environment and the opportunity to join a dynamic faculty committed to the development of competent and skilled future professionals. Responsibilities for this position include: teaching at the undergraduate level, advising undergraduate dietetic students, assessing and recording academic outcomes, serving as preceptor for graduate students in community settings, as such the individual holding this position will need to be licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio and if not currently licensed, eligible to be licensed, and assisting the program director with management of the data collection system. Instructional responsibilities will be in the accredited undergraduate dietetics program in a traditional and online setting, including: Introduction to dietetics, nutrition and health, and lifecycle nutrition. Clinical faculty are expected to collaborate with campus colleagues, support community partnerships and serve at the departmental, university, community and professional levels.

The department enrolls approximately 500 undergraduate students in the following programs: dietetics, exercise physiology, exercise science, pre-physical therapy, and sport management. Minimum Qualifications

-Registered dietitian
-Eligible for Licensing in the State of Ohio
-Master’s degree anticipated to be completed by August 2018
-Three years of experience working in clinical and community dietetics as Registered Dietitian
-One year teaching in a university setting as instructor of record
-Effective written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

-Master’s degree in counseling or nutrition-related area
-Three years successful teaching experience in a university setting as instructor of record
-Successful online instructional experience
-Experience with data collection systems
-Successful experience advising or precepting dietetic students or interns
-Successful experience serving on inter-professional teams
-Strong working knowledge of health care communities
-Successful engagement with Dayton communities
-Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse collaborative environment
-Effective oral communication skills;
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills;
-Willingness to engage in Quality Matters online training and course design;
-Affinity for the values central to Marianist education including diversity and social justice.
