This position is for a faculty position in Mechanical Engineering, with particular emphasis on faculty with expertise in thermal fluid engineering. Faculty are expected to be effective educators, advisers, and develop a scholarly, funded research program.

Minimum Qualifications

- ABD in Mechanical Engineering with anticipated completion by start of contract August 2018.
- Strong written communication skills
- Potential for teaching excellence particularly employing active and experiential learning pedagogies
- Demonstration of scholarly research in the thermal-fluid sciences

Preferred Qualifications

- Strong oral communication skills;
- A demonstrated record of effective teaching;
- A demonstrated record of scholarship in the thermal fluid sciences particularly applied to renewable and clean energy engineering;
The potential to establish an externally-funded research program aligned with on-going efforts at the University of Dayton;
-Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering
- A commitment to breadth of education including educating the whole person in the Marianist tradition;
- A demonstrated record of mentoring students from diverse backgrounds;
- A demonstrated commitment to service to the community, university and profession.
