POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Director of the University of Dayton China Institute and Director of Global Initiatives position involves planning, implementing and coordinating the
University’s international recruitment efforts in China. The primary duties of the
position involve: (i) serve as the University of Dayton’s (UD) primary operational
director at the University of Dayton’s China Institute (UDCI) in Suzhou, China to
establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with institutions in and
around China and the U.S., which will involve working in China approximately ten (10) months on an annual basis, and direct efforts to establish additional program options and enrollment management operations at UDCI; (ii) manage the recruitment, admission and initial enrollment process for Chinese students using advanced computer technologies and expertise in Chinese social media advertising and customer relations management, and oversee special visiting
student programs for international students; (iii) work as a liaison between Deans, Department Chairs, academic and administrative units and the University’s partnerships in China and the U.S. to collaborate on projects and
facilitate use of computer technology in an interactive process; (iv) develop
technological strategies and manage activities to meet the University’s
international recruitment objectives in China and throughout the world; (v)
maintain strong relationships with Chinese alumni to assist with recruitment and
retention efforts; (vi) supervise the UDCI Director of Student Programming and
Director of Student Life, and associated UDCI staff located in Suzhou, China;
and (vii) teach one (1) course annually on international business or a related
topic on behalf of UD’s School of Business Administration.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have a U.S. Bachelor’s degree in Management Information
Systems/Information Technology, Accounting or a business-related field, or a
foreign equivalent degree. Candidates must also have two (2) years of
successful international recruitment and marketing experience involving
coordinating with Chinese universities and high schools in developing student
programs and proficiency in credential evaluations. Written and spoken fluency
in English and Mandarin Chinese is required.
