Position Summary:
Join a team that specializes in bringing the nation’s top minds together to provide the most unique leadership programs in Dayton, Ohio. The Leadership Program Manager at the University of Dayton’s Center for Leadership will serve as an integral part of a high performing team who works with our 50+ partner organizations to develop leaders who develop the Dayton Region and make an impact on the world.

The Leadership Program Manager will be responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of leadership development programs for supervisors and professionals, emerging leaders, and/or custom programs. The successful candidate will manage open enrollment and certificate programs for emerging leaders, supervisors and/or other professionals, to include creating and scheduling new programs based upon customer input and needs, and identifying facilitators, hiring and preparing them to present high quality action-oriented programs.

The Leadership Program Manager will team with colleagues and clients to determine leadership development needs for organizations and make recommendations for appropriate solutions, including assessments, partnerships, coaching and custom program, and work with other staff and partner organizations to identify and enroll leaders to participate in these and other programs. Duties include:
• Design and develop leadership programs for emerging leaders, supervisors, professionals at all levels and/or specific client organizations
• Coordinate program logistics including program materials, travel, AV, classroom setup
• Provide on-site support, including observing leadership programs and interacting with participants to gain consumer insights, program knowledge and ensure client satisfaction
• Coordinate assessments for certificate program participants, and deliver feedback and coach leaders and facilitators as appropriate
• Create and nurture long-term relationships with companies and individuals
• Prepare proposals for partners and other organizations
• Track budget and expenditures associated with programs
• Negotiate contracts, maintain financial records, verify invoices and expense reports for accuracy
• Use evaluations and feedback to assess program design, content and learning outcomes
• Represent the UDCL at various internal and external events

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 3 years experience in business, education or related field
• 6 months full-time experience managing training and development or leadership development programs, as a primary focus of your job
• Experience identifying, negotiating, hiring and preparing facilitators to teach programs
• Experience developing one-day training programs for adult professionals
• Successful experience developing long term relationships with customers and colleagues
• Experience working independently as well as collaborating in a team environment
• Experience in customer service with both internal and external clients
• Superior written communication skills and a strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and strong organizational and time management skills
• Previous success delivering feedback to others and having difficult conversations
• Valid driver’s license, low risk driving record, and ability to be insured by the university

• Experience learning new technology, including databases, software applications, web-based applications, such as website programming, Google analytics, and Adobe Suites; experience with registration systems, such as Cvent, is a plus
• Confidence working with leaders at all levels of an organization
• A sense of curiosity and interest in learning, leadership and/or leadership development

Work Hours

M-F 8:30am-4:30pm, plus additional morning and occasional evening hours as needed. 7:30am start time on the mornings of each program that you manage, and about 10-12 evening events each year until approx. 7pm
