The successful candidate will manage sustainment technology development and integration projects related to aerospace systems corrosion prevention and control. These include organic and inorganic coating application and removal, maintenance process optimization, material performance assessments, and related health, safety, and environmental activities. The candidate will plan and manage qualification testing, coordinate infrastructure needs, conduct environmental studies, and develop long-term product implementation strategies. The position supports a government product support engineering activity with potential to interact with industry, academia, and multiple government agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum P1 requirements:
BS in Engineering (Chemical, Corrosion, Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, or Aerospace) or Chemistry.
Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
Experience in developing and executing test plans
Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple related or unrelated projects simultaneously
Ability to follow instructions and attend to details
Data analysis and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team
Proficiency with MS Office Suite – namely Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel
US citizenship is required.

Minimum P2 requirements:
3 or more years of experience in related engineering position

Preferred Qualifications

MS in Engineering (Chemical, Corrosion, Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, or Aerospace) or Chemistry
3 or more years engineering/technical program management experience
3 or more years aircraft maintenance management experience
3 or more years in aircraft corrosion management experience
Experience using Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy and interpreting resistance data
Demonstrated success in establishing and managing stakeholder expectations
Working knowledge of US Air Force aircraft maintenance, sustainment, and acquisition policies and procedures
Strong interpersonal communication and relational skills
Proficiency in MS SharePoint and Project
