University Summary

THE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON invites
applications for a full-time, nine-month lecturer position in chemistry (renewable annually), starting August 16, 2018.

A typical teaching load will consist of four lecture courses in general chemistry, with the possibility of teaching chemistry for non-science majors or organic chemistry.

Minimum Qualifications

-Ph.D. in chemistry .
-Willing and able to teach undergraduate general chemistry lecture courses.
-Strong interest in developing innovative pedagogies for the 1st year chemistry course sequence.
-Strong written communication skills.
-Experience in teaching general chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications

-Demonstrated excellence in teaching of general chemistry.
-Experience teaching undergraduates in lecture courses as the instructor of record.
-Excellent oral communication skills.
-Professional experience in the North American system of higher education.
-Experience working with diverse student populations.
-Experience in the development and use of innovative teaching methods.
-Sensitivity to education and development of the whole person.
-Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.
-Experience in teaching Organic Chemistry.
-Experience with curriculum assessment.
-Background in chemical education.
-Effective interpersonal skills
