POSITION SUMMARY

THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT WARNER ROBINS, GA

This position is sustaining engineering support for vehicle sustainment technology including vehicle maintenance, ground support equipment, and aircraft maintenance. Under the leadership of a senior engineer, this role will support research, evaluation, reverse engineering, design, and test/validation of hardware for support equipment and vehicles.

The ideal candidate will:
-Interface with client hardware owners and teams to identify and document support equipment and vehicle end items and components in support of lifecycle management (LCM) activities and service life extension programs (SLEP).
-Work with client hardware engineers to ensure documentation and product conformance with engineering design intent and performance requirements.
-Design and optimize mechanical components for either traditional or additive manufacturing (i.e. housings, brackets, structural supports, vehicle parts and aerospace hardware) and mechanical systems, in accordance with current and applicable GD&T standards.
-Create and execute component and system level validation and qualification test plans, as well as analysis of test data and results.

The work will primarily support government customers, but some industrial business may be supported by this position as well.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications for P1:

-BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Technology or related engineering/engineering technology field).
-Ability to create, read and interpret models, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
-Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software.
-Working knowledge in Matlab, Excel, and other MS Office Suite programs.
-Attention to detail.
-Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required.

Minimum Qualifications for P2:

-BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or engineering technology or related engineering/engineering technology field).
-3 years engineering/technical product design, hardware ownership experience with working knowledge of GD&T standards.

Preferred Qualifications

-1 year engineering/technical product design, hardware ownership experience with working knowledge of GD&T standards.
-3+ years engineering/technical experience in vehicles or military support equipment
-3+ years experience with vehicle or trailer braking systems
-2+ years developing military equipment product specifications
-2+ years engineering support experience with US Air Force Support Equipment & Vehicles Program Office
-2+ years training/mentoring/managing entry-level engineers or technical student hires
-1+ years experience developing/interpreting/managing indented bills of materials
-1+ years project management experience
-1+ years MS Access experience
-1+ year of experience in analysis of components in relation to mechanical systems, including Finite Element Analysis for structural, fatigue, thermal, vibration, and acoustics.
-2+ years experience with creating and executing component and system level validation and qualification test plans.
-Familiar with various manufacturing processes such as casting, NC machining, forging, heat treat and additive manufacturing for metals and/or plastics.
-Effective interpersonal communication skills, demonstrated at all levels of an organization.
-Self-motivated & organized with ability to work with minimal supervision.
-Demonstrated successful collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team.
-Demonstrated problem solving and time management skills.
-Proficient in Solidworks 3D CAD modeling and Ansys or Abaqus for FEA
