University Summary

The Department of Art and Design at the University of Dayton seeks adjunct faculty with experience teaching introductory and/or upper-division art history courses in western, non-western, and global areas. Courses to be taught by part-time faculty include Introduction to the Visual Arts and Survey of Art I, II, and/or III.

Minimum Qualifications

*Master of Arts degree in Art History, Art and Architectural History and/or Visual Studies.
*Knowledgeable about and able to teach effectively in broad areas of art history ranging from the ancient world to contemporary art and global traditions.  *Excellent communication skills, knowledge of academic requirements, skills with instructional technology, and organizational ability to keep accurate and timely records. *One year teaching experience at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using interdisciplinary teaching methods.
    *Experience mentoring or working with diverse student populations.
    *Ability to work within a diverse team of faculty, staff and students.
