The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) is seeking a highly motivated and highly talented technician to perform research in the area of composites testing and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma.
3 years technical or manufacturing work experience, one of the required 3 years must be related to composite materials.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to execute tasks on multiple programs concurrently.
An ability to work well with others and collaborate with fellow team members.
Due to security clearance requirements of this position, the applicant must be a U.S.
Ability to Lift 35 lbs.
Valid driver’s license with low risk driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the minimum requirements, a preferred candidate will also have:
Experience with strain gages, LVDT’s, and extensometers.
Preparation of technical documents. Organizes experimental and/or technical results and prepares reports.
Troubleshooting of mechanical systems and equipment.
Experience mechanically testing composites and/or polymers.
Experience operating MTS and/or Instron test frames.
Ability to schedule, task, and manage multiple programs concurrently.
An ability to work well with others and motivate fellow team members.

Work Hours

Monday – Friday 8:00 – 5:00
